Ravi Teja is an Indian Tollywood film actor, who is best known as Mass Maharaja. He got his first break in the movie 'Karthavyam'. For his film "Nee Kosam", he has won the prestigious Nandi Special Jury Award in 1999. He has featured in several films like Idiot, Khadgam, Bhadra, Vikramarkudu, Kick and Power. He has also worked in a Hindi movie Aaj Ka Goonda Raj. In 2012, he was listed 50th in the Forbes India list of top 100 Celebrities, with an annual income of Rs.15.5 Crore. His recent released film is Bengal Tiger.

Biography

Actor Ravi Teja was born as Bhupatiraju Ravi Shankar Raju on 26 January 1968 in Jaggampeta, Andhra Pradesh. He had spend his childhood in many places including Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal because his father used to move very often due to his work. His schooling was in Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai and Bhopal and finally completed in N.S.M. Public school in Vijayawada. He has completed Bachelors degree in arts from Siddhartha Degree College, Vijayawada. He is a huge fan of Legend actors late Sr NTR and Amitabh Bachchan.

Ravi Teja's love over films made him to shift to Chennai and start his acting career. Before making his debut as an actor through small roles, he worked as an assistant director to Krishna Vamsi.

In Yevado Okkadu

Actor Ravi Teja is in full swing now a days. He will be seen as lecturer in the upcoming movie "Yevado Okkadu". He will teach Kumar Parvateesam aka Kerintha Nookaraju. The movie will be written and directed by Venu Sri Ram and produced by Dil Raju under the banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. It features Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja, Pragya Jaiswal and Anupama Parameswaran in the lead roles.

As per the sources, "Parvateesam, as Ravi Teja's student, has a pivotal role in the film. He will be seen as a classmate of Anupama Parameswaran who plays one of the female lead characters in the film". The film is scheduled for a worldwide release in Summer 2016.

Telugu film Bengal Tiger is directed by Sampath Nandi and produced by Radhamohan. The film features Ravi Teja, Tamannaah Bhatia and Raashi Khanna in lead roles. Ravi Teja is seen in the role as Akash Narayan. The movie is released on 10 December 2015 with positive reviews.

Ravi was born to Bhupatiraju Rajgopal Raju and Rajya Lakshmi Bhupatiraju. His father was a pharmacist and mother homemaker. He is the eldest of three sons and the other two Bharath and Raghu, who are also actors. He is a good friend of director Puri Jagannadh. They both have worked together in the movies like Devudu Chesi Manushulu, Dongala Mutha.

Ravi Teja is married to Kalyani, who was a distant relative of his maternal uncle. The couple have two children, Mokshadha, who was born in 2003 and Mahadhan, born in 2006.

Career

Ravi Teja has started her acting career with a small role in Karthavyam. He worked in both television and films as an assistant director before entering into acting. He got his big break with Itlu Sravani Subramanyam in 2001. He joined Krishna Vamsi as an assistant director for Ninne Pelladatha and played a small role in the film. His first film as a lead actor was Neekosam (1999), directed by Srinu Vaitla. In 2006, he worked with director S. S. Rajamouli for Vikramarkudu, which became a blockbuster hit.

The year 2012 was one of the worst years in Ravi Teja's career. He had 4 releases in that year but none of them clicked at the box office. After some gap he got a blockbuster hit with 2014 film Power.
