Santa Maria is an upcoming Malayalam and Tamil film directed by Gautham Ramachandran and written by Rakshit Shetty. A remake of the Kannada film Ulidavaru Kandanthe (2014), the film stars Nivin Pauly, Natarajan Subramaniam and Shraddha Srinath in the lead roles. The movie also stars Ashok Selvan, Shraddha Srinath, Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli, Prakash Raj etc essaying pivotal characters.

The movie was tentatively titled as Santa Maria, but now the title has been changed to Avargal. The Malayalam version will still have the title Santa Maria. Title for the Tamil verison was changed from Santa Maria to Avargal for tax exemption purposes.

Avargal has popular cinematographer/actor Natarajan Subramanian aka Natty and Rakshit Shetty playing the lead roles along with Nivin Pauly.

This is Nivin Pauly’s third film after the bilingual Neram and a small part he played in the anthology Avial (Eli segment).

After the sensational success of Premam, Nivin Pauly became hugely popular among the Tamil audience especially the youngsters. He has also signed for some other projects in Tamil, one under director Atlee’s debut production and another movie Suriya Balakrishna.

Rumours are also doing the rounds that Gautham Vasudev Menon is in talks with Nivin Pauly for the Tamil remake of the Telugu blockbuster Pelli Choopulu, the remake rights for which was acquired by the director recently.

Nivin Pauly’s next releases in Malayalam will be Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela which he is also producing and Sakhavu directed by Sidhartha Siva.

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu was rumored to have romantic relationship with her Jabardasth co-star Siddharth. The duo spotted together at many public and private functions. However, they parted away owing to personal grounds. Siddarth even rejected to do Bangalore Days remake, since it had Samantha.
In a recent interview, Samantha accidentally revealed that, she is seeing someone. Now, the actress officially confirmed that, she is deeply in love with a young hero and said to reveal his name and other details in few months. Samantha also informed to have getting nod from both the families for their marriage. Samantha stated that, her boyfriend has no qualms if she continues acting in films.
“I will do films which suit my age, after my marriage. Moreover, I will do films which won’t impair my family reputation,” informs Samantha. When asked why she doesn’t reveal her new boyfriend’s name, Sam answers, “I was hurt that my past love which I revealed on social media was failure. So, I don’t want to create problems to anyone for now. I will announce about my boyfriend and marriage at the same time.”

The film touted to be a breezy romance flick has been directed by Pandiraj.
